ISM and ProSweets in Cologne 2012

>> sweet exhibition double – it tasted delicious again <<

From January 29 to February 1, 2012, Koelnmesse (Cologne Trade Fair) transformed for four days into a paradise for sweet tooth and confectionary gourmets. Because with the two trade fairs ISM (the international business platform no. 1 for confectionary and cocktail snacks) as well as ProSweets (the international subcontracting fair for Confectionary Affairs) the world wide „Who is Who” of the Confectionary Affairs gathered in Cologne.

Starting only six days after the IMM (International Furniture Exhibition) this meant a special challenge to our staff and logistics. Because within this short timeframe we, on one hand, dismantled the event technology and suspension points of our clients at one global leading exhibition, and on the other hand arranged the whole event technology and  suspension points for exhibitors of another global leading trade fair – all within the same fair halls. This year, too, we have succeeded with this task due to a precise planning and pinpointing implementation of the work to the satisfaction of all clients.

About ISM 2012:

The trade fair was a resounding success for the 1,412 suppliers who exhibited at the 42nd International Sweets and Biscuits Fair (ISM) in Cologne from 29th January to 1st February 2012. A decisive factor for the success of the fair was once again the high level of decision-making authority of the approximately 35,000 trade visitors who came to ISM from around 130 countries. "ISM is the world's number one business platform for the trade in confectionery and snack items. This was once again clearly confirmed by this year's event," says Katharina C. Hamma, Chief Operating Officer of Koelnmesse. "The continued high prices for energy and raw materials are putting the manufacturers under a lot of pressure," states Tobias Bachmüller, Chairman of the International Sweets and Biscuits Fair Working Group (AISM). "That's why the extensive discussions and intensified export activities at ISM are indispensable for the sector." One of the first visitors to arrive at ISM was Ilse Aigner, Germany's Minister of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, who opened the trade fair in the presence of Belgian ambassador Renier Willem Joseph Nijskens. Belgium was ISM's partner country this year. The country's 135 suppliers and numerous activities at the fair impressively demonstrated the diversity and quality of Belgian chocolate, pralines and baked goods.

About Pro Sweets 2012:

ProSweets Cologne, the international supplier fair for the confectionery industry, ended on 1st February 2012 after impressing all participants as a strong event during four days of intensive trade fair business. Nearly 17,000 visitors from 96 countries, 334 exhibiting companies from 33 countries and a ten percent larger exhibition space ensured outstanding quality and set new records. "Given all the decision-makers from the confectionery industry among our visitors, there is no question that ProSweets Cologne is one of the leading international supplier trade fairs for the confectionery sector. We welcomed visitors from 96 countries, who made the event more international than ever before. The sector thus clearly showed that it sees ProSweets Cologne as an important platform for business and innovation!
